Absinthe: About the Creators
Absinthe is one of Las Vegas’s most talked about productions. With its unique infusion of acrobatics, Cirque du Soleil, cabaret and improvisational aspects, some may wonder about the inventive minds that created the show.
Spiegelworld, the company behind the creation of Absinthe, began their reign in New York City in 2006. The creators were inspired by seemingly lost art forms such as burlesque, cabaret, vaudeville, and of course, the circus.
Spiegelworld constructed a unique venue with luxurious, 1940’s style décor and their now signature round center stage. They began creating and hosting outrageously daring shows like La Vie, Desir, and Gazillionaire’s Late Nite Lounge, and of course, Absinthe in the entertainment mecca that is New York. Spiegelworld eventually took their du jour of performances on the road performing sold out shows in South Beach Miami, Florida and Melbourne, Australia.
Finally, in 2011, Spiegelworld announced the opening of Absinthe in Las Vegas, claiming it would be the “most innovative and daring show to open on the strip in years!” Absinthe quickly began racking up awards for excellence, and continues to be one of the most high-acclaimed productions in Sin City.
Absinthe is sure to remain a fixture on the Las Vegas strip for years to come, as guests experience the oddities and wonder of Spiegelworld’s extraordinary creation.
