After a complimentary bus ride from the Excalibur Hotel to the Flight School office at the base of Red Canyon, guests are given a fully equipped harness, safety lesson, and demonstration. With the training session complete, a bus takes you on a scenic, 15-minute ride up Red Mountain, with spectacular views of the Las Vegas Strip and desert wildlife along the way. The bus ride ends and now it’s a short hike with the guides to the mountaintop and take-off platform. At the summit of Red Mountain, prepare for breathtaking views of Las Vegas Valley, Lake Mead and the Eldorado Valley. Things get fun right from the start; the first run has the biggest drop on the Flightlinez tour, dropping 450 ft in the first 15 seconds. But this is not the same type of drop like that of a rollercoaster. There are four runs total (1.56 miles down the mountain), each offering the rider a unique perspective of the desert landscape, while zipping along at lengths ranging from 1150 ft. to 2545 ft. The final run wraps up near the Bootleg Canyon Park welcome center. The bus then shuttles the riders back to the office where photos are available, plus retail items. No doubt the adrenaline rush will still be fresh as you are transported back to Las Vegas.
