6 Vegas Magic Shows to Catch in 2020

A Las Vegas magic show is as classic as showgirls, mobsters and blackjack. The Strip may be constantly evolving, but magic has been a part of the show business repertoire ever since Las Vegas was dubbed the Entertainment Capital of the World. These days, there are no shortage of magic shows to choose from when visiting Las Vegas. You can look for family-friendly options that are fitting for both adults and kids, or opt for something raunchier or more high-concept for adults-only outings.

Whether you’re looking for an under-the-radar budget magic show or you’ve come to Las Vegas with plans to see a celebrity magician, here are your best bets for experiencing the art of illusion in 2020.

Mike Hammer’s Comedy Magic Show
Let’s start with an underrated gem. If you prefer small theaters to big venues and Downtown to the Strip, Mike Hammer is your best bet. This hilarious show combines daring illusions with audience participation for a show that is different every night. Located at the Four Queens, this funny magic show has just the right old school Vegas feel to it.

Criss Angel MINDFREAK
If you’re even remotely familiar with magic and Las Vegas, you know that Criss Angel is a Sin City institution. Catch his showstopping new performance at Planet Hollywood and experience fire, LED effects, music, and of course, mind-bending illusions. As an added bonus, you can stop by Cafe Hollywood after the show for a special Criss Angel-themed milkshake.

Hans Klok: The World’s Fastest Magician
Las Vegas loves a record breaker. If you do too, you’re definitely going to want to grab a ticket to Hans Klok. The blonde-coiffed illusionist claims to be the world’s fastest magician. Head to the Excalibur to see his ultra-fast sleight of hand at this family-friendly show.

Shin Lim
You might call him a magician, but Shin Lim actually prefers the term “forensic mind-reader.” The America’s Got Talent winner is known for his card tricks, which he says are more about reading body language than using otherworldly skills. Whatever his secret is, if you see Shin Lim’s show at the Mirage, you’ll spend the rest of the night trying to figure out his technique. Shin Lim will only be doing a limited-run of dates in 2020, so get tickets in advance.

Amazing Magic Starring Tommy Wind
This show from Tommy Wind is affordable and family-friendly, but it doesn’t feel cheap. Held at OYO Hotel & Casino (formerly Hooters Casino Hotel), this show features magic, humor and audience participation. Wind got his start in Staten Island as a kid when his grandfather showed him how to make a handkerchief disappear, and he’s spent his life perfecting his craft.

Marc Savard Comedy Hypnosis
Fair warning: If you go to see Marc Savard Comedy Hypnosis at the V Theater at Planet Hollywood, you just might end up giving your friends something to make fun of you for for years to come. If you can handle that, buy your ticket and watch – or take part in – this wild magic hypnosis show which uses audience participation to hilarious effect.
