Cirque’s new show will have guests “running” to see it in Vegas

Cirque du Soleil will get a little edgy this fall when it debuts the new show R.U.N. at the Luxor. The thriller will be a departure for the usual Cirque productions with less acrobatics and more stunts. Here are 5 reasons we can’t wait to see it.

It’s a Cirque du Soleil Production
First and foremost, R.U.N. is a Cirque du Soleil show so we can expect something incredible to take the stage. But before you go and expect the usual Cirque acrobatics, R.U.N. won’t have any of that in it, which makes us all the more intrigued to see it.

Its Name
The name of the show can be read as “Are you in?” Did you hear it? Its name is almost goading us on. And it implies that what’s coming is something intense. We don’t know about you, but we are certainly R.U.N.

It’s a Live Action Thriller
This will be Cirque’s first live action thriller. Cirque has done such an incredible job in all of their other Vegas shows, it’s nice to see them change it up a bit. So far, we know it will combine live action performance, cutting-edge technology and multimedia to explore the world of stunts.

It Will Have a Storyline
Cirque du Soleil shows aren’t necessarily known for their storylines, so we’re excited to see how R.U.N. incorporates a storyline. The news release said: “The show will follow two clans in an adrenaline-filled adventure where a striking bride leads a series of fast-paced chases, combat and stunts through the fictional dark underground of Las Vegas.”

It Was Written by Robert Rodriguez
R.U.N. was written by Robert Rodriguez, director of such films as El Mariachi, From Dusk Til Dawn and Spy Kids. He’s both quirky and fun so we’re expecting at least that in the new production.

R.U.N. will take up space in the theater formerly occupied by Criss Angel. The show debuts at the Luxor on October 24, 2019 and will play Wednesday through Sunday at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
